Jan van Krimpen (1892–1958) was a Dutch typographer, type designer, and book designer, known for his refined, classical style. He worked extensively for the Koninklijke Drukkerij Joh. Enschedé and designed typefaces such as Lutetia, Romanée, Spectrum, and Haarlemmer. Van Krimpen strived for perfection in typography and had a strong preference for harmony, balance, and aesthetic consistency in book printing. His work is still regarded as a highlight in the European typographic tradition.
