TEFF is a design agency.

After thorough discussions with the client, we define and analyse each project. The elements of the project brief inform our design. These designs develop the existing ideas and content that have not yet been visualized. This purity of approach and content intensifies the product’s identity. We avoid irrelevant graphics, unless explicitly requested.

In designing information and complex texts, such as reference works, this approach means we focus on typography. All content elements are assigned distinctive text formats, ensuring that the underlying structure is clear to the user and making the message understandable. We have considerable experience with this approach and have developed a extraordinary sense for nuance and detail.

Depending on the requirements of the project our designs can be visually striking or unobtrusively facilitating. In order to achieve a balance between content and form, it is essential to collaborate with the editorial staff at an early stage of the project. Ideally the design is created while the editorial staff is still developing the content.

Many of our projects involve a volume of data that can not be processed manually. Data processing and typesetting is therefore automated and we design with this eventual automation in mind.

In some cases we also carry out complete production. For the production of dictionaries for example, we have developed a proprietary typesetting system. Design feeds immediately into production. Transferring & checking production specifications from designer to producer is eliminated, thus saving time and money. Extensive projects of this kind however require careful planning, a solid preparation and a commensurate budget.

We’d be pleased to discuss your potential requirements.
